The Leading of the Holy Spirit

By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person's work. If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved – even though only as one escaping through the flames. Don't you know that you yourelves are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in your midst? - 1 Corinthians 3: 10-16

Jesus is a foundation, as solid as a rock, He never changes. If your life collapses, you can't accuse foundation. We can accuse only ourselves, because we are the ones, who choose THE BUILDING MATERIAL. Building material means all those choices we make during our life time. You can follow Jesus and do things in His way – then you will build a house with "gold, silver and costly stones" as the scripture says. But when you continuously choose YOUR way, then you house is built with "hay and straw"
Would you like to live in a house, that is made of hay? One spark, and the whole house will go up in flames. It's a very good example about why it's wiser to follow God's plan. What are your plans and purposes? Are you sure they are God's plans and purposes as well?
God has given us the Holy Spirit, so we could have power to choose the right way. Why? Because one day we will all stand before God and account for how we lived. Sin ALWAYS brings loss and failure.

SO....What should I do?

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. - Galatians 6:7-8

I'm not trying to tell you that you have to perfect to get in heaven. Not at all. No one can be perfect....it's impossible. What I try to tell is, that you have to strive for perfection. It means, that you have to descipline yourself. Live selfishly, and you will pay for it. God calls his children to order. Trust me, you wouldn't like God to punish you – it hurts.

How can I change myself and my character?

To be honest, we really can't change ourselves, but God has given us the Holy Spirit. If you accept Him(the Holy Spirit), he can start changing your personality, character, heart....everything that is ruined by this world. He will change you until you are like Jesus – loving, patient, kind etc. The Holy Spirit gives you self-control, which helps you to put other first.
Holy Spirit wants to change your heart, but you have to play the leading roll. We are called to crucify our sin nature and condemn it. You have been given new choices every day, but you have the freedom to say no (or yes). If you are accused of doing something you didn't do, for example breaking a vaze, then help to clean the shards of class. It might be VERY hard at the beginning, but in time the Holy Spirit changes your heart and your personality.

If anyone hurts us or messing something up, our first reaction is to revenge. Trusting God's leading and sharing His love require choices.

The more you choose God's way, the more comprehensive is the fruit that the Holy Spirit evokes in you!

I'm not trying to tell you that everything you do must be successful, but compared to your past life, the next years should be much more God-centered not self-centered

Foundation. How to hold on to God in hard times?

“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.” - Luke 6:46-49 (NIV)

Why should a man build a house without a foundation? Maybe to save some time or to avoid the hard groundwork.  Maybe because living near the water is more attractive or a beach house has a higher status? Maybe because his friends are already on the sandy soil and he wants to be there because of his friends. Maybe because he hasn't heard about the raging storm coming or maybe he thinks that a disaster can't happen to him. Whatever the reason is, I'm sure that without a foundation he is short-sighted and he will regret it later.
Obeying to God is like building your house on the solid foundation, which stands firmly, when the storm comes. If our life is peaceful, we don't worry about our foundation, but when the crisis come, your foundation will be tested. Make sure that your life is built on the solid foundation in knowing and trusting Jesus Christ.

Why do the problems come to our life?
"But ever since we stopped burning incense to the Queen of Heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have had nothing and have been perishing by sword and famine." - Jeremiah 44:18 (NIV)
In the Old Testament times, people had to sacrifice animals to receive the forgiveness for their sins. When Jesus died on a cross, it meant the death for all the human race. Thanks to Jesus we can receive the forgiveness by praying.
Problems come when we lose our fellowship with God or when we stop talking to Him (praying). Also, when we haven't heard God's warnings about giving up  the idols (TV, the internet, money, some kind of actor/singer etc.) or disobedience (to God and to your parents). God hates sin, but He loves you. God punishes, because He loves us SOOO MUCH! He punishes us to discipline and to purify us. (Jeremiah 46:28 NIV)

How to confront the problems?
"Prepare your shields, both large and small, and march out for battle!" - Jeremiah 46:3 (NIV)
When we become Christians, the Devil starts to fight against us and he looks for how to flush you away with idols and disobedience. Read the Bible EVERY SINGLE DAY for it is a shield for you and ask for God to protect you, because Jesus says in Luke 11:9 "Ask and it will be given to you.." If God is for us then  even the Devil can't destroy us. Going to a war without God is as pointless as banging your head against a brick wall. WITHOUT God you will lose for sure. WITH God you can beat even the hardest enemy and solve the most difficult problems. (Jeremiah 51:20-23)

How do YOU confront the problems?
